The below podcast from Freakonomics looks at research on this very subject and has found that African-American clients are more likely to tip black women worse than anyone else. Very strange. Apparently they tip white guys the best.

It is so annoying when that happens. We had a favorite brunch place that very quickly went downhill in the last few months. Our second to last visit resulted in me sending back sausage gravy that I swear was made with non-dairy coffee creamer rather than milk. The waitress took just the gravy off the bill even…
Is she Swiss?
I'd invite you to find waitstaff were that is happening.
That is the best part about restaurants - the memories we create at them.
I worked in bookstores for years and would get this all the time. "I don't know anything about it, but it was on the clearance rack like 4 years ago - it had a dog on it, but it wasn't about dogs."
My sister was a server in New Orleans, and that was always what she and her service friends would say. She basically said that the one week a year when the Southern Baptists would have their annual conference in NOLA was the week she would take off work because she would have to work 3-times as hard and make no…
Mine too. Though my most embarrassing incident was with a baby boomer friend at the grocery store. She was doing some shopping and I was trailing behind her. She co-opted an employee who crossed her path. She made the employee carry all her items, kept asking really esoteric questions about the…
Lies!
My in-laws are like that. They can't hear and choose not to wear their hearing aid. All that would be fine if they wouldn't order off menu. My father-in-law just requests random food items - we are at a Denny's and he will say "I'll have Chicken Curry." and then ignore the confused waitress. My spouse and I will…
As long as we keep our children apart we should be cool.
From the very first paragraph of this article: "Chicago Tribune reports that in the past week or so, US District Judge Katherine Forrest dismissed three lawsuits: "a shareholder lawsuit against Lululemon, and two lawsuits accusing 11 executives and directors of missing red flags about poor quality control.""
That wasn't what these lawsuits were about. These were shareholder lawsuits regarding corporate policies that they claim cost them dividends. Sorry to interrupt your fat shaming, but its off topic.
The lawsuit was from Shareholders who believe the sheer pants and the CEOs loudmouth cost them revenue. This wasn't a consumer lawsuit.
Common usage may change, but I will never give up my two spaces following a period. NEVER!
Try adding 4 cats to mix and you'll find that (in our house at least) we sleep in whatever position our feline overlords allow.
I have heard the term "Forced Birthers" which I think fits.
I'm surprised that Jezebel used such graphic sections of the suit. I was struck while reading it that if the Plaintiff were a teenage girl and the Defendant were a middle aged straight man the details would not be so specific.
I agree. That is messed up.
I think this video cost about $5000 to make and a wedding that blingy would cost $50,000 easily. This video seems like a way more fun, budget-friendly, and personal way to celebrate their marriage than an ostentatious wedding.
