I agree, having been heavy, than been thin, and then gotten heavy again, I know first hand that I never count as much as a regular person when I tip the high end of the scale.

It is about how people have money coming into the house. Many people who are under-employed/unemployed get money in tiny drabs - 2 dollars here, 5 dollars there - rather than in a sum amount. It is easier and cheaper on a day when you have $2.00 to eat to go to MacDo than to go grocery shopping.
