I’m mad I didn’t discover the NBC Olympics app sooner. Their coverage was terrible, but the app live streamed literally everything and there were replay options. Also minimal commentary (often none!). Wish I had gotten my slalom canoe on via the chrome cast.

Oh yeah. They’d be labeled as thugs and trouble-makers immediately. The paternalistic and entitled talk about how “they need to remember they are role models” and “they should be disappointed in themselves” would set in immediately. Hell, one can see the double standard in how the media gave Lochte a virtual pass but

The US coverage was terrible. NBC showed way too much Michael Phelps, that is was offensive to other athletes. There is no need to show him sitting and doing nothing. Al Trautwig deciding to dismiss Simone Biles’ parents as not being her “real parents” was mean and petty.

I’ll say the unbelievably sexist commentary was my major take-away from this Games cycle. From the World Record swimmer having her glory given to her husband/coach, to the talking heads demanding women athletes put rouge on their lips and cover their zits, it was .....difficult to listen to.

I’m a Grey so I don’t know how successful this will be, but let this be the Complaint Thread for the Olympics. Anything you thought was particularly egregious about the event (IOC practices, conduct of certain competitors, biased media coverage, etc.), feel free to discuss here!

Christ, NBC has been, hands-down, the worst part of the Olympics for me. Their commentators are all entertainment reporters so they don’t have the slightest clue on how to talk about the events or individual competitors with the knowledge the audience deserves. Always trying to turn each athlete into a human interest

I urge y’all to write a story about Claressa Shields. She just won gold in boxing for the second time in a row and it wasn’t even close. She’s from Flint, Michigan. She was disappointed she get more attention/endorsements after the last Olympics and thinks it was because she doesn’t fit the “pretty” image of other

I’m obsesses by the female track and field athletes at the Olympics. OBSESSED. I can’t say anything that everyone doesn’t already know about what incredible athletes they are. They make me feel lazy as fuck and like I’ve only used about 5% of my physical potential. But on a side note, I love that so many of them run

He is

Bad idea, Hillary. Justin doesn’t ever miss a chance to make things all about him, no matter how stupid he looks. The guy is a grade A level attention whore. Every single photo from the fundraiser will be something like this (replace Jessica with Hillary):

What was done to her was beyond unforgivable. But it wasn’t the porn’s fault; it was solely the fault of the evil waste of life who abducted her. Blaming porn is like blaming video games for Columbine.

I feel like a person whose introduction to porn was their rapist abductor kind of doesn't have the most level starting point for a conversation about the subject. But maybe that's just me.

Not sure if it’s the best Olymipcs for US women but It did dawn on me that I have watched allot of women’s events and hardly any men events at this Olympics. Not sure why. I knew going into it that I was going to pay attention to the US women gymnastics team, track team and the woman who I think might actually be a

That was the saddest thing. Yoshida just knelt on the mat and bawled. A delegate from Japan was hanging out the medals, and when he got to her, she started bawling again, and then apologized to him. (I’m assuming for the loss.)

Is this the best summer Olympics, medal-wise, for USA women?

Men just get so DAMN SALTY when women are good at what they do and don’t cause a major fucking tailspin into bankruptcy.

Also, sorry we didn’t find your dick jokes, porn gifs and incessant wellactuallys* entertaining. I sure hope there is another place on the web for all of you.

Fucking finally.

i can’t build bridges bc power tools confuse me do you have other suggestions
