I really wish they would show footage of the testing. Tiny little glasses on rats? That's the perfect Monday pick-me-up

Loud Noises!

If your logic we're sound we'd still be using the Boston Garden to watch the Bruins and Celtics. That's just not a good deal, that place was horrible and the TD garden is fantastic. I would argue that Fenway is in worse shape than the Garden ever was. Don't get me wrong, I love Fenway for certain reasons. I was there

I've been a Red Sox fan my whole life, and I hate going to Fenway. There are very few good seats and the ones that are good are so much money as to be practically unattainable anyway. Next time the Red Sox go down to Baltimore take a road trip. That's what a baseball stadium can be, and it's not even one of the best.

I keep this tacked up on the outside of the slider that closes my overhead storage bin.

I used to disassemble my PS2 and manually realign the disc tray height in order to play FFX when it came out. This involved taking off the top, removing the disc tray cover, and marking the spot on the sprocket that adjusted disc height with a sharpie. Then when I wanted to play a game, I would have to start all over

This is the main problem with home theater installation. If you want optimal sound and video quality you need to understand that this is often counter to aesthetics. For instance the center of a TV should be at seated eye level. It makes for an ugly mounting, but a more consistent picture than other mounting positions

The only time digital cinema has done me wrong was when the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo at my theater was missing the last five minutes. Otherwise I love the transition to digital for most movies. Film should only exist as an artistic choice. If you don't care it should be digital. It's easier to preserve our movie

The Oatmeal is, as always relevant.

Now playing

Different but sort of related. I just wanted to post this.

That's a milestone worthy of reviving the TumblBeasts.

[en.wikipedia.org](1927) I was about to reference the Cap Arcona as well. That was a huge and ironic sinking.

I like the small digestible format! One suggestion? A regular segment with Dr. Dave Goldberg would be great. He's the sauce for the io9 goose, Mr. Saavik.

After bottling, it is rapidly emptied into the gullets of Vermont State Troopers.

I love Joe Qs art and I hope he continues with his habit of producing art for monthly books, even though he's an exec (cough..Jim Lee...cough). The one thing I took from this, and I hope it's true is that the artist will decide whether the enhancements allowed by the new format would be used in their book. I really

Excellent.

SG! Damned right. This is the guitar I own (not his, mind you) and I couldn't love it more. It's quick, it has Les Paul qualities without the weight, and just overall looks badass. It's the best guitar for tiny people who love to rock.

This has been a fantastic afternoon of listening. Thanks for the link!
