Sorry, slashed his portrait, I should have said.

Looks like Mitch “Dorian Gray” McConnell smashed his mirror.

We’re all puppets, [Sophia]. I’m just a puppet who can see the strings.”

There’s a large portion of Trump’s base for whom listening to scientists is a negative. These are the young Earth creationists.

They wouldn’t report something that goes against their narrative. That being: everyone is out to get us. It’s so unfair!

This story will not feature on right wing news outlets like Fox. I guarantee it.

This is a common claim, but it’s always presented without evidence. It’s close cousins to the slippery slope fallacy which claims that adopting any international agreements, or any new measures of socialism (the ones people are so used to that they’re part of the water in which they swim are ignored) will usher in

I suspect the ecological footprint of the phone itself is many orders of magnitude higher than the headphone and wall charger. How much energy does it take to make the 5nm processor, aluminum chassis, the glass on both sides, etc.?

At least during the pandemic (with mask wearing), FaceID is a pain. Right now, I’d rather have a finger print sensor.
I’m disappointed that there’s no 1TB option. I filled up my 512GB XS recently and had to purge some of my GoPro videos.

The sustainability of our society (which includes the natural ecosystems that support our economy) is not a far-left issue.

Do remember that a substantial portion of China’s GHG emissions come from making crap for American consumers to buy. Our carbon footprint is larger than what gets emitted within the United States.

Came here to say that “The Fires of Pompeii” explains what was going on here.

People have very little control over their reactive emotional response. What matters in how your reflective mind processes the instinctive feeling, and what actions you take.

Subway bread is very bad. I don’t eat there any more, but when I did in the past it always seemed to give me bad gas (TMI maybe).

You read the headline, the first paragraph and then jumped to the comments didn’t you. The Persian alloy was not stainless. 1% to 2% chromium and 2% phosphorus is not enough to make it stainless. Modern, true stainless has 12.5% chromium.

Stainless steel was invented in Sheffield, England in 1913. It seems a little strange the article nebulously mentions the modern invention of the alloy, without being more specific.

I’ll have to read the paper, but there are a few challenges with meta lenses beyond acceptance angle:

As I said, “I get that you agree...”. I read every word you wrote.

You’ve immediately dropped in to the kind of fallacy that is discussed in the article. Yes, there is an issue with fuel build up (thanks to a religious idiot who claimed that wild fires were caused by Satan and must therefore always be suppressed), but that issue has been there for decades.

Please look up the ad hominen fallacy. Your response to an article about climate change misinformation is to discredit the messenger based on the country they live in? Come on!
