This game takes place in Northern California, near where San Jose would be in the real world, and I have to say that public transit in this state is a shit show. Yes, there is BART in the bay area, and the busses in SF proper run well and on time— they kind of have to, the city has the worst parking situation I’ve

Scented foundation is the fucking worst. I remember getting a bottle of the perfect shade of Anna Sui foundation back in the day, and having to throw the whole thing out because it smelled overpoweringly of rose. I love roses, and rose fragrances are some of my very favorites, but when it’s actually on your face and

It’s possible you’re right, but going by what the devs said in the documentary I saw, they definitely felt the name hurt the game’s reception. Whether that made a big impact or not, I can’t say. Dishonored and Deus Ex were not actually poor sellers. Deus Ex Mankind Divided suffered the most from Square Enix having

I just watched a great documentary about Prey by NoClip, and it is a completely original idea, though clearly inspired by System Shock, but when Arkane devs pitched the game to Bethesda, they were basically told “cool, but you have to name it Prey because we own the IP,” and Bethesda wouldn’t budge on that. So no, it

So basically you’re saying this is shovelware made to capitalize on the notoriety of a child who murdered people and was feted as a hero by the alt-right when he walked? I am shocked. Shocked. I am also sure that they had no intention of provoking the alt-right to defend this cynical cash grab and prevent it from

I’ve played probably a dozen MMOs over the years, and I was really pleased with FFXIV for having such a modular and robust UI that I felt I didn’t ever need addons to have a great experience. It’s nice to know that after an update, I can just jump right back in and play seamlessly, with no need to update dozens of

I’m proud of Bungie for standing firm on this one. I’m glad that they’ve shut down the people calling for them to shut up and stick to games. They are showing that their company values are more than just trite phrases, and that they believe in something.

I agree. An addict will definitely downplay their addiction, make excuses, and get angry at loved ones who try to intervene. Even if he can afford the losses at the moment, the reckless behavior is very troubling, as is the admission of addiction and that he can’t stop and doesn’t want to. This is the first time I’ve

I also think it was an unfortunate typo, but its also very sloppy and careless. I have a real name that is unusual and is often pronounced or spelled wrong. Yes, most off the time a simple correction followed by a genuine apology is enough, but when you are already feeling unappreciated and someone can’t be bothered

Man, screw Square Enix. They have been mishandling their western assets and IPs for years, cancelling franchises and claiming disappointment even from games that sell very well and get critical acclaim. I would rather see them sell everything off and go play in the NFT fantasyland than keep dragging down great IPs

I am a huge Arkane fan, but I’m kind of glad my introduction to their style was Dishonored and not another zombie game. Don’t get me wrong, Half-Life is awesome and I wish we had more games in the franchise, but at this time we were getting overloaded with zombie games and movies, and DLC for non-zombie games. Valve

Human revolution got a director’s cut, and still plays very well. Mankind divided doesn’t even need a remaster at this point, it still holds up just fine. I would be over the moon if they released a third game in the Adam Jenson trilogy, and in the grand scheme of things it hasn’t been that long.

Don’t. Don’t hurt me this way. I would die in a puddle of fangirl joy if one of my favorite studios got their hands on probably my favorite franchise of all time. Though I would also be insanely happy if Arkane made another Prey game instead.

I am just hoping and praying that when/if a new Deus Ex game comes out, they finish the Adam Jenson story and don’t just reboot the whole thing. I mean, if all we can get is a remake I will definitely still play it, but after all this time I feel like we deserve to see that story to its conclusion.

I think that happens a lot when an old IP is remade or rebooted. Fans build up expectations and hype, and the reality never really lives up. I bought it right at release, and I remember the steam reviews being pretty savage. People were definitely not happy. However, all these years later the reviews are mostly

I liked Thief just fine. The worst part of the game was Erin, but since you spend the majority of the game looking for her it’s not even a big deal. I am also a huge Dishonored fan, and while I think Dishonored is definitely the stronger game, Thief didn’t come off looking terrible by comparison. They both feature

You’re right, it is simplistic. It’s just interesting to me how the numbers are interpreted based on whether or not a game is perceived to be a “good” game or a “bad” game at release. A game with a lot of (deserved) criticism like Cyberpunk was still wildly successful at launch, by almost any metric, and yet other

So... within a month of release, Cyberpunk 2077 sold 13 million copies, yet everyone in the media declared it a massive flop. Star Wars sells 3 million copies within a similar time frame, they’ve had “a launch that was hugeand they’ve sold “zillions of copies” and is one of 2022's biggest gaming success stories?

According to the graphic, it looks like they stillhave roughly the same amount of resources invested into CP Expansion, or DLC, as they did in the beginning. It appears that as they are ironing out some of the worst bugs, they’re moving people to new projects. This seems pretty reasonable, to me. I really like

I don’t understand this industry hard-on for NFTs to become a thing. I mean, in a way they’ve been in the same racket for years, with players lining up to hand over real money for non-tangibles like skins, weapons, mounts, or whatever. Making the same exact thing, but with the blockchain involved, seems needlessly
