Agreed with the alien face analogy. I much prefer having oversized headlights for the 'cute' look rather than having lots of tiny little foglights all over the place like in this article's example.

I observed similar with the Indian motorcycle market too - the Bajaj Pulsars were nice economical bikes that boasted "great power"... for the Indian market. But in a few short years they got into some sort of horsepower race with the Pulsar being improved with more HP and less fuel capacity.
