This is a problem that really only exists for consoles and console-centric developers. If FF Type-0 had been a PC game, Square Enix wouldn't have dared try to stop any of it for fear of backlash as historically PC gaming has always been very mod-oriented.

I wouldn't go that far. It's also been described as a more a primordial Azeroth as if untouched by the sentient races and their history, so I'd expect just many many foresty green zones with lots of fae creatures roaming around. The crazy 'magical beyond comprehension' stuff would just get saved for Raids.
