The problem with your argument is that Musk delivers on his promises (model S, model 3, China factory, solar roof tiles, revolutionizing space access). He is usually optimistic in his timelines, but that is forgiven because he delivers on things people generally thought were impossible.

Loading the trucks over the sides of the bed is not a normal use case for pickups driving on roads. The limits are very strict...I think no more than 4 inches in most states.

Yeah, my 2012 P85 cost $56k in 2015. But I was spending $180/month on gas, and it costs me about $40 a month in extra electricity (roughly 60-70 miles a day). So that’s $140/month in savings. We bought both of ours used from Tesla. Get same warranty as a new car and remainder of original battery warranty. At least 1/3 cheaper. Only drawback is that your’re stuck with older tech. For example, my 2012 MS doesn’t have autopilot and my wife’s 2016 MX only has 1st Gen autopilot (which is still great!)
