They both use T-56 425 engines and there is a lot of commonality between the engines and servicing. Even the E-2s’ 427 uses many of the same parts.
Actually, the NP-2000 was designed for the E-2C Hawkeye 1st. It is an 8-blade prop and the E-2s have been flying them operationally since 2004. The E-2s had to go to an 8 blade prop because the 6 blade prop’s harmonics played havoc with the E-2s electronics. (8 is a multiple of 4, so the harmonics were similar).
