Valve decided to use an immutable file system for the Steam Deck’s OS - essentially, the core of the operating system, including the directories where system-wide apps are typically installed, is read-only. It’s a safeguard against people who’d accidentally end up making their OS unbootable by blindly following…
$70 for a day-one, cross-platform release on multiple storefronts? I could get on board with that.
I’m confused, Ari. As far as I’m aware, EA Play access is available to regular Game Pass PC subscribers without Ultimate.
There were more votes for Biden in Texas than in New York in 2020. Trump won, but there are plenty of Democrats in Texas.
In that same light, there were people that clearly supported a liar in Hillary Clinton. During the ‘08 primaries, she fed the rumors about Obama’s birth certificate in order to further her own campaign. Not to mention trying to bring her cheating husband back into the White House with her.
Its gawker, any more its less and less worth the time to come here. No, i do not agree with his choice of political causes, and would have phrased it as such, political causes, but this place as gone fucking crazy with the christian hate. i miss Reiley.
Because right now, the word “Christian” in this case would likely be placed in heavy air quotes. Most of what’s destroying American democracy is ruthlessness and selfish greed couched in the word “Christian.” (Witness your former President’s photo op with a Bible.) Just some Canadian Jewish context here.
Completely agree. Thank you.
Why the unecessary dig on Christians in the FNF preview?
The wording is... questionable but the FNAF creator’s choice of supported causes does include some religious-based choices that cost him a lot of fans. Though I think it amounted to the same level of negative press Chris Pratt received before he stopped being super-public about things like that.
It’s really nasty to shit on the FN@F creator by calling him a “weird Christian Dude” like that’s very insulting, if he was an Hasidic Jew or Devote Muslim and you called that weird it was be uncalled for. I’m agnostic but this weird thing where we just dump on religious belief as long as their “safe” to mock is…
I like that this article goes from “Bethesda is running a slave labor camp for their audio team” to a quick note at the end that a small indie studio recorded twice as many lines lol. There is more than enough fuckery in gaming that you don’t have to manufacture controversy. Bobby Kotick is still breathing.
Defo: finding fault before something happens is kinda derivative
Wyn Rush, a senior narrative designer at Gears of War developer The Coalition, spoke to Kotaku about why they and their narrative peers were so concerned about the news.
We’ve now reached the point where we’re criticizing developers for theoretical crunch that outside parties think that they might have to do in the future based on single statistics?
So, at 150k lines of dialogue, Starfield has about half the number of the awesome, yet very indie, gem Disco Elysium? I think it will be just fine. For a Bethesda game, at least.
Yeah, I like Kotaku, but this article feels like “big project = big project!” with insights from someone who doesn’t work there. I’d rather hear about it if there actually is any crunch, not just “AAA studio might have to crunch!”
Yeah, but Fallout 4 had over 400,000 lines of dialogue.
Breaking news: Larger scope of project means it is harder to complete!
