Just because they're called Polyphony Digital, Naughty Dog, and Insomniac and not Nintendo EAD 1-3 doesn't mean it's not a similar situation. Unless you're implying there won't be any more Sony hardware. In that case: teeheehee.

"What's the point of having a 3D display if people are not going to use it?"
I don't believe there is a kitchen sink in there.
How else would you the Wiimote, nunchuck, and the U controller all at the same time with only 2 arms?
I'll just come out and say it. It's cool to hate Nintendo. Compare the muted, if not positive, reaction to Sony's waggle clone and Microsoft's body waggle to the largely negative reaction that Nintendo waggle got, even now.
"They should use 3D because it can do 3D"
"I don't believe Nintendo should should get into the habit of releasing a franchise more than once on a singular system."
Almost every publisher caters to that demographic. Why would Nintendo give up their near monopoly on women and families to go after a market that's already saturated with competition?
You want an open-world, plot driven Mario with poor gameplay? I don't even like platformers and I know that is a TERRIBLE idea. It's like asking Bethesda to turn TES and Fallout into linear JRPGs.
Yeah, noticed that too when I bought BF3.
But EA HAS had digital distribution experience for a lot longer than Origin has been available. Not to mention they have more resources and have been watching other digital distribution services work.
The difference is in how they go about making a profit, and more importantly, their image when they pursue it. Valve buys small studios, helps them develop, and gives them marketing. EA buys successful studios and sucks the soul out of it before and destroys it after they're through with them. EA has launch DLC, Valve…
TF2 is free and the updates are free. Not gimped free either. Good customer relations still goes a long way. No one cares about LoL selling cosmetics either. Items being sold in WoW doesn't make that much noise either, compared to how outrageous they are and how many people play the game. The biggest factor IMO is…
Don't people pay more than that for Unusual hats?
Nintendo didn't stop trying to improve their tech though. Each handheld generation was more powerful than the last. It was just an indirect way of saying "OUR GRAPHICS ARE BETTER". Sony wanted to compete in graphics, Nintendo didn't give a shit. Sony was completely wrong when they said "it [the touchscreen] won't have…
Not praise it but no need to smear it either. It's possible to advertise without attacking the competition.
What? Did they make that commercial just to advertise the 3G on Vita? Possibly the most worthless part of the system?
Could be worse, it's buying extra content and can be considered DLC. Still not as bad as Mass Effect fanboys who try to scientifically discover what Tali's sweat would taste like.
The difference is also that Steam gives indie games the same opportunity in advertising. With TF2 promotions they can actually get better treatment than the AAA titles. It's much more even in comparison to consoles where even B developers have trouble.
Hip to troll Bethesda now? No, it's been a recurring joke since Morrowind. Maybe even earlier. Even fans admit that it isn't a Bethesda game without tons of bugs and glitches.
