Just this Friday, my wife slipped on ice, fell on her wrist and broke her radius. Now I am not saying this article would have prevented it, but it certainly looks like useful information to me.

So you need two 3.5 mm sound cables, but they are both optional? #corrections #cheeky

ZX Spectrum 48k. The sound of a cassette tape while a game was loading, the obscure error message until you "slapped" the tape and tried again, learning BASIC and copying code... A Christmas present from my grandparents when I was 9.

I had also just lived under the assumption that "You don't need to defrag with Win 7" until I came across this article, launched defrag and saw that my disk had "Never run". Currently analysing it to see if it needs doing... Thanks for the heads up!

The article says "pennies sanded down on one side to remove the copper plating and reveal the zinc core." This means that you have copper on one side and zinc on the other - there's your redox.

Here is something I asked on a previous post, but maybe the Open Thread will give it more visibility.

This might be the best place to suggest it... In the same way that Lifehacker has provided us with packs for Windows, OSX, iOS, Android... could we have a "Lifehacker Chrome extensions pack"?

A lifehacker-related issue: lately, when I read articles in this site, I have terrible trouble going back to the previous page. It appears that every time I click on a link, about 10 instances of the article appear in my history, so hitting the "back" button just keeps me on the same page. I end up right-clicking on

I tend to use diigo in a similar way to how I used delicious. It also has cached previews of the pages and quite good sharing capabilities.

It does not get much simpler than audacity. If you just want to record an audio snippet (without editing), you could look at something like vocaroo.com

As a Spaniard, pretty much raised on olive oil, I can't even begin to tell you how hurtful this is... What the heck is canola anyway?

You should type 58008 if you are going to turn it upside down... ;)

Or as I once heard it said, "Life is an STD with a 100% mortality rate".

Thanks for the detailed info, sounds like I have some work to do before I leave :)

I hope my open thread posting will still be visible a day after...
