HHNNNGGGGG!!!
I’m with you on that one. It was very hard for me to get passed this lawless badlands where we have working motorcycles but no one wants to get the one up on a baron by making some black powder and simple cannons/muskets. Instead we’ll just sword fight.
I blame Gary Gygax, and the whole “bows require dexterity shtick” for that. I think spears would be a better weapon of choice of agile but not particularly strong characters; leverage and rewarding the speed with which you move the point.
There was an entire profession of arrowmakers back in the day whose sole job was to provide arrows for the soldiers. Hunting peasants probably had to make their own arrows, which wouldn’t be nearly as strong or straight. Arrows could be reused, but not too many times, since they do eventually break even without a…
Something I have wondered about archers—were the arrows expensive? Did they take long to make? It seems like there would be a fair amount of skill required to consistently produce arrows that would fly straight. Did they reuse arrows? I have never fired a bow, I have just wondered.

I forgot to take into account the censors. They ruin everything.
On the other hand for the story it will be much better served as a television series and certainly BBC will have the courage to go for the full story rather than the quasi-disneyfied version that the movie indicated it would be.
Enjoyed it also, because it is impossible for me to not enjoy polar bears in gleaming armor fighting each other. White Witch of Narnia, eat your bear-chariot-riding heart out!
My take on Doc Ock. The arms are made of packing material strung with wire, spraypainted silver.
Wow, your longsword is just amazing, always had an confusion that longsword or bastard sword completely different. Although bought one from...
No wonder people kill each other for this stuff. Jesus. Pure solid gold is just so fucking gorgeous.
Norwegian forest cat is best cat.
Yeah. She's a Maine Coon. She wears that look well. And frequently.
