Ah, well we have actually solved this issue! More specifically the people of Cornwall. You see, having a hearty meal down in the tin mines was a problem two fold, there are no kitchens in mines...duh...and that the dust that comes from mining tin that gets on the hands is poisonous, so they invented the pasty.
