Yes! That is important. No promoting the latest cookie cutter film, just honestly intersting conversation about quite interesting trivia by people who are interested in being there. I support your guideline.

QI should not be affiliated with Fox in any way (except for the General Ignorance category at the end, ha!), so maybe HBO or some other cable channel that will let the content and wording stay the same? I can handle that.

Mitchell will have to be a recurring guest on an American version, just to be critical of the American version, if nothing else. It would be magic, absolutely!

And all of the panellists will have lost their points retroactively and have to come back to earn more. Fantastic. QI Series AA, I will be ready!

Maybe I can see it this way: if they make it work, we’re better for it, and if not, we can tut at the screen and be smug, whether we’re Brits or Canadians with Brit connections (like me).

He’d do alright. He’s not David but I like Lewis enough to approve of that.

Well, that could work. And I like it as the hiatus filler, because too many QI episodes in a year would ruin the magic. Perhaps a mix of British and North American guests each week as well, to make fun of the differences between the cultures. Okay, I might be swayed eventually if it goes down this path.

Regulations for American TV need to be relaxed for certain subjects and words before QI can work. Plus we need more David Mitchell rants that threaten to derail the show (but don’t) because those are great when he’s a guest. :)

I think the BBC is the only place that can handle the irreligious nature of the material, and that might be why they chose it. The budget will be the problem, we can agree on that. Let’s see what happens. An increase in UK television licence fees, probably. Ha!

No, do not Americanize it. It is perfect as it is, my favourite show ever. XL version is a wonderful way to spend time. The censors in America will spoil the content and the language and the tiny things that make QI wonderful.

I think the BBC will make a good story of it. They may limit some shots of polar bears, use some trickery to cover the potential budget gaps, but we’ll get into the subject matter of the stories and somehow forget the shortcomings of a few quid.

Deunan Knute, Rook Bartley, or even Lagertha the Shield Maiden from Vikings would be costumes I’d love for Halloween, but time has moved on from the days of my energetic, crafty self who has plans on Halloween.

He list is very accurate and I support all of these entries. The Conan reboot was, well, sad. I had low expectations for it and I was still extremely disappointed. A good sword-swinging movie is so difficult to find. Nostalgia is not enough to make it work.

It’s a Darksword Armory practice federschwert, from their WMA line and it is great for longsword studies. Durable and well balanced, with a hex-nut fastener on the pommel so it can be tightened as needed.

HEMA! My passion in life. Here I am in a German Medieval staff guard. Four years, class once or twice a week, multiple weapons, reading source material, studying original images, going to a museum’s back room... I will tell ypu now: this is a hobby worth having.

Status proclaiming Norwegian forest cat as best cat is best status! :)

Maybe that’s the price to. Be paid for all that fluffy wonderfulness. She is gorgeous. There has to be some down side. Right? Maybe...

Maine Coon, yes, sorry. It’s hard to see the tiny differences in a picture. Same habits and attitudes of course. Fantastic breed, those Maine Coons.

That appears to be the “inconvenienced” look of a forest cat! I know it very well. Not exactly annoyed, not exactly happy.

Thor Longtail, Cat of Thunder. So named because he is a Norwegian Forest Cat. Also, when he was younger (a year and a bit old or so when I adopted him) his tail was longer than his body, and he is loud! He hangs out with me when I clean my training swords.
