For me, no review will ever beat his review of NBA 2K18.

Being able to turn it on and off is a “quality of life feature”. Having it locked on is just a design decision.
No joke. For one thing, it’s Professor Turo, not Professor Tudo, and any cursory check of a Spanish dictionary will tell you that “pasada/pasado” is past and “futura/futuro” is future.
Everyone’s favorite palindromic Pokémon can, in its Paldean form, evolve for the first time!
Personally I’m very excited about Mina the Hollower, but if you’re not into 2D Zelda-type games, then maybe it’s not for you.
Aaaaand now it’s a slideshow, and I can’t even see what has been added and removed. As if it couldn’t get any worse.
Having played Shovel Knight Dig and both SteamWorld Dig games, I would say the vibe is not at all similar. Both games are platformers that involve a lot of digging, but that’s about it for the similarities. SteamWorld Dig games feel much more like adventures. Shovel Knight Dig is much more of an arcade-style game.
That’s like saying, “This game would be a lot better if it were a different game instead.” And I mean, sure, that’s accurate, but also not very meaningful.
Ethan didn’t say he thought the game was too hard. He thinks it just isn’t that fun. As another big Shovel Knight fan, I sadly have to agree with him.
Can you imagine? Can you imagine if they didn’t listen to the entire world population’s unanimous agreement that this was a terrible mechanic and the worst aspect of BotW?
Crunchyroll also just seems terrible in general? Like to use, I mean. Where is the money going?
Honestly I wish modern Final Fantasy games had more goofiness. The older games in the series had plenty.
I’m not a Nomura fan by any stretch, but I loved 7. It still has that Sakaguchi magic.
There are some critical points of game design that would help remove inherent bioessentialism and move away from racial coding; the removal of prescriptive skill packages, the decoupling of traits from race, the elimination of bloodlines and blood quantum mechanics, better mixed-race mechanics, and elimination of…
I did not. In fact, I think this is the first time I’ve heard of the game, or at least the first time I’ve looked into it.
At a time when the GameCube was struggling and Nintendo fans were still smarting from Final Fantasy’s exodus to PlayStation, Symphonia was a beacon of pure JRPG bliss
That sucks! I’m glad I haven’t had that experience yet, though that could be because I haven’t unlocked/played ranked matches.
I mean, I guess that’s possible. But I for one have barely even heard of Shin-chan, and the animation is really off-putting. Is there actually some big Shin-chan following in the west that’s going to help sales?
Counterpoint: You already gave it a shot and decided you’d rather play something else. I had the same experience when it came out. God willing, there will always be something better for us to play.
Disagreeing with somebody is not the same as trying to stop them from enjoying things. And whether or not it was actually Ari’s goal to engineer discussion when calling Final Fantasy XIII “one of the best Final Fantasy games”, I think everybody can agree it was inevitable. It’s a very hot take.
