I hope my local one sticks around. They never use the hard sell and I enjoyed occasionally hanging out in there to pass a bit of time (before the pandemic). They may be a terrible company, but I’d rather buy games from them than contribute to Amazon’s monopoly on everything.

Mostly just behind my keyboard. Although I don’t get any joy out of being rude to Ari. I really just want him to do better. Admittedly that doesn’t excuse the rudeness.

I’ve definitely been rude to Ari due to the many, many inaccuracies in his articles, and even I think Ricoh’s comment is pointless and mean-spirited.

OK now that makes more sense. I was going to say, the SNES was an amazing deal! But no. And boy could those games be expensive. Chrono Trigger was $80 MSRP unless I’m mistaken. Great system, though.

--REDACTED DUE TO INCORRECT SNES PRICING--

In most cases I agree that the median is more useful. But in this case where the total cost is really what matters, mean is probably the more important statistic, even if it’s likely not representative of any “average case”.

New Super Mario Bros. 2, for the 3DS.

Literally!

Nintendo even went out of its way to retcon the game’s existence out of its own Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary sizzle reel. The mini-retrospective that wrapped up the Direct made time for Super Mario Land for the Game Boy and New Super Mario Bros. for the DS, and then unceremoniously skipped from 2009’s New Super

They could have easily just left the subtitle off the international versions, sort of like how Luigi’s Mansion 2 is instead called Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon only in North America.

And also no Super Mario 64 DS.

GameXplain just did a video on this feature using the North American eShop, so I’m pretty sure it’s not just in Japan.

Just updating the graphics can be great if the original game was good. Crystal Chronicles always sucked, though. I still remember buying it in college, playing a few hours, and then selling it to someone else in my dorm as fast as I could. I think that may be the only video game I owned that I’ve ever sold. It’s just

I agree that delaying the next generation is a good idea, but who’s going to do it? If either Sony or Microsoft do it individually, they’re liable to lose market share. And if they collude together to delay, that’s likely an illegal anti-competitive practice. I’m not sure exactly how the laws apply in international

Sorry, but it’s Partner Showcases from here on out. I guess we’d better get used to it.

Sure, agreed. I just wasn’t expecting it in this presentation because unlike Cyber Shadow and Axiom Verge 2, it hasn’t been announced for this year.

Huh, I’ll give that a try. Thanks!

I was playing it on the TV! And this is the sort of game that’s normally right up my alley. It just was not fun for me. Maybe I should give it another shot though.

I’m hopeful that my kids will also enjoy it and maybe it’ll be something they want to revisit periodically, like Donut County.

Well this showcase was a bit disappointing for me. I was hoping for more information on Cyber Shadow, Axiom Verge 2, Eastward, or Hollow Knight: Silksong (though wasn’t expecting that last one), plus maybe some info about the DLC for The Messenger or Katana ZERO. I got none of that. And with very few exceptions, the
