brilliant

I’m not sure I buy the argument that in order for someone to say ‘imagine it was your daughter’ (or another female relative) that they are required to feel ‘ownership’ over whomever it is they’re talking about. Isn’t that a bit of a big assumption to make? I’m not saying people shouldn’t think before making any kind

and you can take that straight to the Jos A Bank

I love the way it ends, with the spray chart/glove line. I was also surprised how good it was

ummmm, Papi DID test positive for steroids.

The very last hurdle, though mostly symbolic, was the overturning of New York State’s 21-year-old ban on mixed marital arts in March.

1980 Wimbledon final, Borg/McEnroe. Still think it’s the best final ever played at Wimbledon, mostly because the guy I wanted to win ended up winning (in 2008 Rafa beat Federer SO THAT MATCH SUCKED)

How does this, or any other stadium for that matter, only have a 30 year expected lifespan? That’s nuts.

What sets Jordan apart is the pathological obsession with winning. He’s a fucked up guy, with some real problems. The obsession ‘works’ only when he’s playing basketball professionally. Maybe in business too, since he’s now like a billionaire or something. Everything else though? probably not.

Asking because I don’t know for sure - is the reason we don’t see the new GT in the top class, and it was in the top class in ‘66 (right?), because the top class used to be homologated and now they aren’t required to do that?

I definitely think he’s doping, but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise given Jamaica’s lack of oversight and the rest of the world’s, ummmm, lack of oversight.

Totally agree with this. Federer would be an enormous shock, especially because I expect Nadal to be on the list. Djokovic, even Murray (who has been against doping publicly but has also publicly said doping has ‘crossed his mind’) wouldn’t be as big a surprise as Federer.

‘everything will keep going on just as normal’

I’d like to express my thanks to the Deadspin commentariat, who have reaffirmed for me that I’d never join a club that would have me as a member.

no, not really. moral relativism would mean something like ‘who am i to judge this family, this culture? they have different, yet morally equivalent, world views and i therefore cannot say whether they’ve done something wrong.’

Your points are all well taken, believe me. It’s obvious to anyone who paid attention that Senna got screwed.

always loved this guy’s arm too (and Mel Allen)
