I agree with @sunburnedcounsel but I would say make sure to look at the website of transit system and not just google because google sometimes doesn't have the right times and won't keep up with things like late trains, or whatever. Also, maybe try to go during the weekends first and on weekdays not during rush hour.

When I was unemployed I was volunteering a lot and going to the gym about every other day, in addition to searching for a job. I know someone said this down-thread, but focusing on yourself and having things to talk about with your partner makes you a much better partner than focusing on your relationship and working…

There's really only so much time that you can search for a jobs. There aren't usually enough job postings or whatever every day to keep oneself occupied with.
