Ironically, in 2012 NYT covered the topic of young women being constantly criticized for their speech patterns. Obviously saying something like "I. Can't. Even." online is different from vocal frye speech patterns but young women do tend to adopt and perpetuate speech patterns first and men are quick to follow. So,

Never too old! Jenji Kohan rocks crazy hair colors and looks amazing!

It took me...way too long to realize another period was about the Victorian era and not a show on which 2 women discuss their menstrual periods.

Welp! The rest of the afternoon will now be lost to me searching YouTube for more of his standup.

Oh my god that was hilarious! I'm still laughing!

I hope Mulaney makes it as a show. I've been listening to a bit of his standup lately and he's really funny! He has a really good bit about him realizing how scary it is to be a woman in a dark subway corridor with a man walking behind you. But more importantly than John, I love Nasim and hope this show boosts her

Uhhh. Sure. Go ahead and put vinyl tape on a high traffic surface and let me know how it goes. I've seen enough tape on floors in my short life to know it won't end well. I wasn't trying to talk down to you. But there IS a reason so many people have linoleum. And it's not because they're all boring and hate taking

Linoleum is so prevalent because it's cheap and easy to install. Most rental units owners and cheaper homes aren't going to waste money installing expensive tile because it's not worth the investment.

That experience sounded like a huge mess and totally not worth it.

Oh, I love that show!! Especially when they clearly have noooo idea what they are doing.

I don't remember the graveyard bed episode. I just tried googling it and couldn't find a picture. I do recall the hall glued to the walls and the room full of sand *shudder*.

Oh, I think I've read a bunch of those! At least this bath crashers episode didn't hot glue fake flowers all over the entire wall!

As someone with severe home repair fatigue, may I make a note to the non-home owners? While watching reno shows is all fun in games because it always ends in beautifully, in real life when doing it yourself AND in real life behind the scenes of these show it's ugly. SO ugly. It always takes twice as long and costs

I always love your joking comments but man, when you bring out the chemistry talk, it is a thing of beauty. Teach me more about ill-advised substance abuse!

A world in which Neville Longbottom becomes a hottie and the most attractive HP star gives me hope. Hope for the future. Which I need after reading Toni's autism justification. Ugh.

Right?! Who would have thought that Neville would be the looker when they all grew up? Damn.

uhhhh. No. Pre-eclampsia and mature age in pregnancy are both very dangerous. The risk of death to the mother and baby and the risk of a baby being born with severe defects is much higher. And women who had lots of babies in the past before medical birth control existed also had a lot more still births, higher infant

That was such a horrific article. It really saddened me to know they people are adopting children and being so terrible abusive or outright killing them in the name of religion. I can't. Ugh

I feel like after the bout of pre-eclampsia and then the late miscarriage (wasn't the baby pretty far along? They buried it) I would have put the brakes on any more possibility of another pregnancy. It just seems so dangerous for her now. But I'm no fertility expert.

Maybe I'll get lucky like you someday! I had another friend tell me that her horrible migrains disappeared after she gave birth so perhaps getting pregnant and having a baby will solve what ails me too!
