The pointlessness of it was the one thing I liked about how they did it. It was much more like real life. Things happen. People die for no good reason. Things don't always turn out with happy endings. This is pretty much an overall theme of much of Whedon's work.

The only thing I liked about his death was that it made the fight that came right after suddenly have real danger. If Wash could die, who else might not survive? I didn't get that with Shepherd's death with felt pretty standard as far as movie death's go.

Fox Mulder, not exactly killed, but as soon as he left, the X files sucked. I stop caring about the characters plight. I need to find my sister. My real father is Cancer Man. I am in love with Sculley.

I'm with you. If they were in the car— even with the door open— people should avert their eyes and carry on with their day. Having sex in a car is not the most public of settings and used to be considered rather quaint. It may not be the best decorum and may be kind of gross, but other than telling them to move along,

Then you find out she's incredibly insecure with a thirst for validation from strangers who shower her with what feels like boundless, genuine love so she builds this persona to garner attention to feed her emptiness, hoping secretly to find someone to notice who she really is underneath but in creating this facade,

HAPPY LIFE DAY!

I agree completely. Virginia was great in that movie. It was what I hoped the Star Wars ep 1-3 would have been. Good story, good character development. The VFX didn't feel forced. I totally wanted a plush of that dog. F all the haters. They should have named John Carter of Mars and the trailers could have been better.

Because Disney honestly had no idea how to market the franchise. If the title had been something like "John Carter of Mars" or "The Princess of Mars", they didn't bring up the fact that almost every story of the past century was inspired by the series, and if they hadn't plopped it right in the middle of March, when

I always liked Stephen King's response when asked why he wrote The Stand: "Sitting down at my desk and wiping out the human race was fun."

Signed in to star. Bravo.

*Clearly* this is not everyone's experience but I have never in my entire life been more miserable than in the three months I spent living in New York. The constant activity was stifling, the omnipresent crush of people completely panic-inducing, and 95% of the people I met in a social context were navel-gazing and

This is almost as bad as the time that neocon shitlord Elvis wrote Viva Las Vegas, which thoughtlessly celebrated the city and totally failed to address its high divorce rates, unstable housing market and contribution to gambling addiction.

"WELCOME TO NEW YORK

I suppose Katy Perry's "California Gurls" should have discussed water shortages, migrant farm worker's rights, rising rent and gentrification, and state budget shortfalls.

Not to mention that I don't think stop-and-frisk or poverty levels are really Taylor's stories to be telling, and if she had tried to address it, Jezebel would be taking her to task for that.

Right? It's Taylor Swift. If Taylor Swift tried to write a song about the mean streets and how mean they can be that would go over like a lead balloon. Girlfriend leads a charmed life so she writes songs about that.

I readily acknowledge that this is putting my ignorance on full display (steady your tomatoes, friends!), but I absolutely had no idea Pakistan looked like this. Yes, I know it's a good sized state with a varied topography, but wow- this is just beautiful.

It's been a while since I read it, but isn't there some stuff about being hairy and bigger and having to "overcome" that could be placed next to Malala's obstacles (I realize it's not laid on that thick, but it could be taken out of context for this chart)?
