I drove around with a really cool Pittsburgh jitney driver once for an article. If he's the type of driver that's out there, that's awesome.

I hope you end up in a city with no taxis, or a God-awful, "fuck you, unless you're taking a 60 dollar cab ride to the airport" company (hi, Pittsburgh). I truly do. Then you might realize that taxis are a fucking monopoly all over the country.

I haven't yet had a chance to use Uber, but I have tried to get a cab in Pittsburgh, AND done stories about shameful taxi cab cartels. They need to be broken up, and Uber and Lyft are a good thing.

Okay, I have never used Uber, but please explain to me whether customers are warned about surge pricing, and warned about the potential price beforehand.
