"police academy scholarship"? So in the past, you had to pay your own way?
He just LOOKS like he belongs in the KKK (and no, white people, it's not just because he's white).
Yeah, I'm really confused, and I can't tell if the reporting is off or the actual situation. Could they be referring to pension benefits or something? Did they maybe feel that the town so mistrusts the department that they had to confirm they wouldn't keep giving him money? Maybe there was a local rumor they felt they…
I'm just gonna say what everyone's thinking. He does have a face you want to punch.
I'll just copy and paste what I wrote on Gawker:
Male reporters ARE allowed in female locker rooms, Cletus. This has been explained to you idiots about fifty times in the past two days. I'm hoping at some point you're able to wrap your feeble little mind around the concept, it's not exactly a complicated one.
Not only was the original comment ignorant of easily located facts, but it was condescending while attempting to sound clever. That's the definition of being a dick. The follow up was then sarcastic, which compounds the dickishness.
It's a choice. They're finished showering in their allotted time before the journalists were allowed entry. If a player doesn't care who is a journalist to say anything. The player who are naked don't give a shit. They know the rules.
It's a choice. The locker rooms aren't opened up to the press until 30 mins after a game. People who don't want their nudity on display don't need to have this. and stop with the bullshit of 'wrong to have women in the locker rooms", It doesn't work that way. You ban journalists, you don't single a gender out.
Locker rooms aren't opened immediately to the press. They are opened 30 mins after, so if anyone wants to shower and not have their naked body on display to the press, they have the opportunity.
Man get it right. There is no point to be made here. Players choice as to whether they get interviewed while naked. sigh!!!
Except male reporters are allowed in women's locker rooms.
...except this misconception has been corrected multiple times both in public and in the comments section of this article, so no. No double standard.
Jesus Christ... men>women's lockers, women>men's lockers, transgender arguments, what the hell, humanity?
This is fantastic. I remember well when women first started going into the locker rooms and what a "scandal" it was back in the 80s. I had so much admiration and respect for every one of those few women who literally broke down that door. Thank you for being the trailblazer that you are and for giving girls who…
The players earn their salaries because people watch the games in person and on TV. Their entire livelihood depends on access to the public. The leagues need publicity, and they have set the rules and have decided that reporters should have access to the locker room. No one is forced to be a professional athlete.
Yes:
"One even said, 'You know you don't have to do this work,' in a tone that sounded like Sting telling Roxanne she didn't have to put on the red light."
You see, folks in the world of sports weren't used to working with a "fee-male." And you know, they all say that word so well.
