Are they really so different, though? Their projects have been very different, but they both are very good wordsmiths, know how to land a wink-and-nod that is fun instead of obnoxious, and do subtle absurdity really well.

I mean, they’re both great writers and actors, and quirky in their own ways, so I find this project really intriguing.

This here. I’d love to support this movie, but I’m single and I’m not paying $20 to stream anything, let alone a non-blockbuster film. I’d pay $10 for something I really want to see, particularly in the Age of Covid, but $20 is a few months of a premium streaming channel add-on with a ton more content.

You’re probably right that it was his mother, but I have a maybe irrational dislike of Leo (I’ve find him creepy AF for the past 10 years or so), so I choose to believe that when he isn’t working on growing his next young blonde girlfriend clone in his basement lab, he gazes upon posters of himself in his early 20's

It’s like the White leadership at so many of these organizations, companies, and institutions are like, “What, we have to stop being so bigoted? Fine. We’ll try, but so badly that you’ll stop asking about it.”

That episode scarred me for life, although I was more disturbed by her friends’ monster heads on the cave wall.

It feels about five years too late to be something original-fan parents drag their kids into watching with them.

I saw him back in the late 90's on his MTV Unplugged tour, and he did “Fly Me to the Moon” sans mic, and just filled that space. It was incredible and I’ll never forget it.

I could see that being good, though, especially if they leaned into the lime. Avocado’s a pretty mellow flavor, but it would add a nice creaminess to the lime...although I’m more of a sorbet fan for citrus, so what do I know.

And also, with just (“just”) a broken leg, Harold had the opportunity to sit with the fact that he’s going to die for a while and watching him come to grips with his choices wasn’t just satisfying for the reader, but it also gives if not redemption, then at least a final bit of growth before he chooses his exit.

I thought about this as well, but someone else online made the excellent point that that role ought to go to a non-binary actor.

I mean, in the books they’re the same, but Lucifer the show is almost completely untethered from them.

grotesque, lurid, deliberately shocking detail

Because I’m an old, I always mix up Grimes and Lourde and have to consciously think about which is which. From what I gather online, this is incredibly unfair to Lorde. (Probably unfair to anyone, really, though.) Grimes and Musk suuuuure seem like they deserve each other though.

I wish I could remember who, but I remember some actress or comedienne commenting on how she was in the unemployable valley, where she needed to either lose or gain a bunch of weight to get gigs because as a woman, you have to be either “hot” or the fat friend.

Really wish it was streaming in its entirety somewhere.

It’s become more culturally acceptable for a man to reject fruits and veggies, whereas traditionally, females have been the family caretakers and more likely to engage in specific nutrition behavior.

I agree except I’d also add Spy.

Exactly this. Guys who think they deserve “hot” women put out resentful, angry, insecure vibes that many guy-liking women have learned to be on the lookout for and run the other way.

I’ve been making a huge batch of vegetable barley soup for about the last month, but I’m finally over it. I was trying to figure out what to make next, and boom! This sounds amazing.
