I have such a strong nostalgic love for Out of Time that I can’t hate SHP or Radio Song. SHP is maaaaybe made more interesting when you consider that OoT hit when grunge was huge, so it’s a heck of a counterpoint to a lot of what was on alternative radio at the time. Also: it gives us a second track with Kate

Time to get to chorin’, but this is great news. It’s become one of my comfort watches, but now I have a hard time saying “to be fair” straight. Aside from the heightened dialogue and staging which I dig, I love how pretty much all the characters actually grow and learn stuff while still remaining true to themselves

To be faiiiiiiiir...for me, it works for me because it’s all of a piece and very stylized, very theatrical. Pretty much any scene that isn’t a brawl could be done on stage and before I learned about its start on Twitter from this post, I assumed it born from characters Keeso developed in underground comedy or

Yeah, I haven’t liked any of them either, which is a shame, because they approach good in a few cases, but never quite get there.

I love that Trash’s love for Flagg provides the fuel, but I do wish he’d come up with something other than a literal Hand of God. That said, in this book at least, a literal manifestation makes at least a little bit of sense. Makes you wonder why God intervenes in this world, but not with Roland on his never-ending

Yeah, prison rape and assault jokes are f’d up. Just because someone’s locked up doesn’t mean they deserve that.

Shadowbanning him would be perfect because like the dumpster fire he is, he needs the oxygen of attention.

I think I’ve only really liked them from one Chinese restaurant in SF back in the day when I briefly lived in the Inner Sunset. They used a LOT more scallions than most and ratio of crab to cream cheese was closer than most places. (That place also had the best twice-cooked pork. Man, I miss SF Chinese restaurants.

When I first saw the header image, I though it was a pistachio layer, and now I want to try that.

Spy was cute, and he was awesome in Green Wing. (I never see any love for Green Wing.)

It’s telling just how much looks matter in our society that people would rather risk dying or living with a serious chronic condition than have a droopy face. (I almost don’t blame them because as a fat lady, I know stigma is real.)

They just can’t stop being mad that two Black girls have the audacity to be from a well-connected, high profile family and are living their lives.

I guess Rowan Atkinson needs another fancy car.

I’m so sad about it. Like, was it really that hard to just postpone the production until after the vaccine? It sounded like all of the actors really loved this show and would have given it priority when scheduling.

I hear the Attorneys General of New California and New Nevada are very interested in this case.

I remember hating a lot of the stuff in my American lit and British/Euro lit classes because I just couldn’t relate to any of it. Just because a teenager can comprehend a novel doesn’t mean it’s appropriate. (Looking at you, Madame Bovery, which I should probably re-read now that I’m 40.)

A significant part of the Secondary English education community has been pushing to retire the old white canon for literally decades, and it’s funny, the only pushback I got when I was a high school English teacher was from parents because I wasn’t assigning enough of the “right” books. I took a middle road of mixing

I’m surprised he hadn’t contracted it already—I thought he had.

You know anything coming from “palace sources” is so far up the royals’ butts that it’s hard to take seriously. The hangers-on have made their whole lives conforming to and sustaining that institution they must be terrified that it could conceivably end in their lifetime because what will they do then?
