I guess he sees something nasty in the woodshed?

Shame he hasn’t figured out that part of Bourdain’s genius was his humility, compassion, and championing the non-famous people (often women) making awesome food.
I’ve only seen the first four eps of season 1 and am sort of enjoying it despite Chang and the pretty much non-stop bro sausage fest. Like, they’ve featured a couple of women, but not with the same focus and respect that the male chefs get. Is S2 any better?
I like the idea of the half-cape on the green outfit, but the way it’s hanging—and it could just be wind—it looks like it’s trying to strangle her. (Or maybe that was the statement?)
Holy cow. This looks amazing.
To be fair (to be faaaaaaaair), I’m pretty sure it’s just Americans who get shitfaced on St. Patrick’s Day. Last I heard from my born-in-Ireland acquaintances, it’s not much of a thing over there unless you’re a hardcore Catholic for whom it’s a Holy Day of Obligation (meaning you have to go to church).
They look more like uteri than vaginas.
Soda bread and latent Catholicism are pretty much the only ties we have to our Irish ancestry in my family (great-grandma was from Dublin). It’s amazing toasted with butter. I will eat an entire loaf in a day or so if I’m home and don’t watch myself.
It’s a FACT: I’m looking forward to this!
I am definitely doing this my next slate of meetings.
I went to a Whose Live Is It Anyway? show (recommended if your audience isn’t filled with drunken, boorish asshats...although it was fun to watch Greg Proops eviscerate hecklers in real time) with Dave Foley in the cast. He wasn’t the most limber, but his jokes and timing were still aces. I’m down.
Well, and even on the East Coast, a TON of it is way redder than conventional wisdom and pop culture suggests. I was shocked when I moved out here.
Definitely felt like, “how progressive is she *really* if her folks are well manicured? Elites, am I right?!” Which, no.
I love Warren, but Harris makes a lot more sense for Biden. And anyhow, if we can’t have her in the Oval Office, I want her in the senate. I don’t want our Republican gov to be able to appoint someone from the GOP to her vacant seat.
Nope, polling shows her supporters are pretty much split between Biden and Bernie as second choices. She really was the coalition candidate, but she dared be smart in public and not let men bully her, so here we are.
It sure as hell raises the question in my mind about what kind of behavior he finds tolerable, though. Going on Joe Rogan, accepting Marianne Whats-her-name-snake-oil-lady as another? I find it incredibly troubling. My state’s already voted, but as I watch the rest of the primary unfold, I’m not as excited as I ought…
I should be thrilled that someone with Bernie’s platform is still in the running, but I just can’t be. I’ve been bullied by too many of the bros IRL and online to enthusiastically support him. I don’t trust him to surround himself with non-toxic people should he get the office. It’s going to hurt his ability to get…
This is total spitballing (and not Maduro-specific*), but my wild guess is it’s a desire (conscious or unconscious) to keep women in their place. I’m not a parent, but I imagine it’s worlds harder to organize and fight back when you’re also caring for children. Parenting is exhausting enough, and six kids? Women will…
My parents are only a year or so younger than he is. I lived near them most of my life, but moved to the other side of the country for work a few years ago, so now I only see them once or maybe twice a year. It really is amazing just how fast people age at that point.
I hope Biles, Raisman, and the rest of the victims take all these malignant tools to the cleaners. Then, if they decide they want to, after they’re ready to retire, create a whole new org from the ground up.
