I am a Gordon fan, and I don't disagree with you one bit on this. If he had run better, or not had one of his five DNF's, it's not even a question (prior to day, I suppose...)

Midvale Speedway, near New Philadelphia and Dover Ohio.
If Gordon had knocked Logano out of the Top 10, Joey Logano would have ended up finishing ahead of Martin Truex Jr. in points. They both have one win, but Logano would have finished higher. And if Newman had won the race, Newman would have had more points, and therefore the tie-breaker to beat Truex Jr. for a wild…
To clarify...
While Bowyer's spin was obvious, NASCAR ruled it as "inconclusive", saying there wasn't enough evidence that he spun on purpose.
I shared this last time it came up, but I felt like sharing it again. Probably one of the more fun things I've captured with my Go pro cameras. The track just had another one, and I wasn't there for it, which I was kind of sad about.
Actually, NASCAR deemed that Bowyer's spin was "inconclusive" and the penalties were actually based on Ty Norris orders to Brian Vickers. Big difference there.
Also, officially, the points penalties are pre-chase, so Bowyer will maintain his point total going into the chase...
Good comment Dusty.
All of that was very true, was just editorializing on potential options.
I agree with OTE_TheMissile. Crews were having issues turning around trucks. As solid as they were built, I think the drivers beat them up more than expected.
The other thing is that I do think they might have bit off more than they could chew by jumping straight into big stadiums. While they have a good Street Team…
Jalopnik iRacing League? Anybody? Buehler?
Her Hard Card. She has to sign up for a "Hot Pass" to get to be on pit road during NASCAR top-level touring series races.
Essentially, she had her Hot Pass revoked, and NASCAR will decide when she will, if ever, get to be allowed to hold one again. The fine is probably to be paid if she ever wants to get her Hard…
Yea I just remember seeing all the TecPro barriers, so I figured that was the "New Hotness" for F1. Just figured it was good ole concrete behind the TecPro barriers, but Armco makes sense.
NASCAR Isn't necessarily against F1. I would presume that because they are willing to work with the ACO and Le Mans to make USCR work.
I think the bigger issue is that F1 expects so damn much from a race circuit, and the high-end fans that they focus on bringing may not be as interested to go to Watkins Glen vs COTA. …
They will probably eventually allow RLM at the Rolex 24, Sebring, and Roas Atlanta...the three big races on the schedule. However, outside of that, probably not likely every week because NASCAR.
Granted, MRN did broadcast all 24 hours online last year. But it was using every single one of their NASCAR talent on…
Well...USCR is run by the France family, which owns NASCAR/International Speedway Corporation, which owns MRN, so it was bound to happen that way.
Ah, the days of Track Negotiated TV deals.
Fun Fact...there is no "big" package for radio. Tracks can dole those contracts out as they wish. However, Speedway Motorsports Inc./International Speedway Corp. both own radio syndication networks (SMI = Performance Racing Network/PRN, ISC = Motor Racing Network/MRN). So…
Also, I believe that FOX is expected to re-up on Trucks...I don't think there is a whole lot of competition for that. FOX already has the cameras there through the Network Collective...so really it would only make sense for FOX or NBC at this point. And since FOX needs FS1/FS2 content for the long term...it will get…
Honestly I think this will be great for NASCAR and the competitors as a whole. Whelen Modifieds are getting three days of broadcast this year, but the NBC deal could potentially grant them more air time. K&N Races were hit and miss on Speed (as in...trying to find it...), and NASCAR Mexico/Canada were virtually…
I feel like ANY motorsports programming that cross-pollinates IndyCar will help ratings. Maybe not a ton, but a bit.
When you are only estimated to have a .25 share when NASCAR on a bad day on TNT pulls a 3.3/3.6...you can only get better.
I do think that IndyCar would be smart to sign an exclusive deal with ESPN…
Well the good news is that he wasn't the only one. Don't worry...GT6 will come out and he'll be able to get a bit more practice for next year, haha.
