Well, I have an HTC One M7. I can't imagine it's all too different from an M8 structurally, so I guess the same 70lbs could probably bend it. If an iPhone 6 Plus is putting up with 90lbs, this whole bend issue really is overblown.

Thats the feeling i get as well. I live in the Netherlands, and we only got the X1 this month. Thats almost a year later then their major markets received the console.

Sure it is the best smart phone you can buy that can't use Tasker, has artificially limited NFC capability, has no way of customizing your desktop, can't use desktop widgets of any kind, can't change battery, can't add a memory card, permanently bends in your pocket, etc. etc.
