I'm no Jeep fanatic, but that isn't an original WWII Jeep. That's a later 1950s version, as it has the CJ style grille with bigger headlights. The original ones were probably even easier to rebuild.

Interesting rear tail lights. For some reason, I'm fascinated with the export tail lights that a lot of American cars used when going overseas since most other countries require amber rear turn signals.

@someoneelse2010: Yup, it was the dawning of EFI on most of these cars which helped a ton.

@someoneelse2010: What a difference 5 years made - 1985 is when power levels started coming back. Mustangs had over 200hp that year and it was the first year that the GLH was turbocharged. Before that, the n/a GLH didn't even make 100hp!

@someoneelse2010: I don't see your point. Mustangs had a maximum of 185 hp up to 1984. T-birds had even less. How are they any different?

@yoda2: That dog will hunt.

Cake's "The Distance" is probably my favorite song ever.

@Maxichamp: I don't think I've ever seen a Taco Bell here that wasn't in a free-standing building.

Why is any 1980s sports/muscle car included in the list? All cars back then were putting out pitiful power levels. Don't call a car a poser because of government strangulation.

@LS1RX7owen: Thank you for that horrible mental image.

How many blue denim shirts does that guy own?

@Jagvar: Ditto, that elicited a real LOL from me.

@hoonaticracing: That's a shame, but I can't blame him. LeMons isn't exactly loved by the general population as it is.

I think what we can all learn from this is that Jay needs to create a more authentic race consisting only of mid 1950s or older American cars and Ladas with pontoons strapped on the side to cross a body of water.

This just reinforces the idea that I want to be Jay Lamm when I grow up.

@Sage Callahan 5.0: Let's hope your '88 GT wasn't an automatic, because if so, it had a Pinto shifter and you should kill yourself now.
