This. I’m getting real tired of everyone blaming “the devs” for everything wrong with a game. Devs are simply trying to make the best game they can with the resources and direction they are given. There aren’t “greedy/lazy devs,” but those people absolutely exist in management and with publishers.

Exactly. You’d be hard pressed to find a dev who is excited to add a bunch of mobile microtransaction mechanics to a game they’re working on.

Okay, 24 millions is far from record breaking I’ve been one to point it out myself. But comparing that to box sales is ridiculous. Microtransactions is a continuous cashflow while the classic business model frontload the money at the start.

One of those games is a buy to play game, the other is a free to play game with a cash shop that is constantly trying to get you to pay a couple dollars.
