Yeah, the fact is, it IS an exploitative game. The entire model is designed to exploit people. Just because someone doesn’t have to does not change that fact.

I’d imagine that information probably hasn’t been explicitly stated yet, even if it’s completely obvious based on that being the case with literally every single game miHoYo has ever developed lol.

I recently invested in some nice, high end, reusable N-95 masks for the family. I did the research and found some top rated, well tested ones.    The masks themselves were not cheap but the boxes of replacement filters are and they are very comfortable and work well.  Kinda figure we are going to be wearing them out…

It does if the mask prevents the saliva and other fluids containing the virus from getting to your nose and mouth. I read a study saying wearing a mask is about 80% effective at preventing YOU from contracting the virus. It’s not 100%, but if you were told one restaurant was 80% lower chance of you getting food…

It really should be noted that Cloud Meadow in particular seems to be a bit of a patreon scam. Eternally “early access” with little or no development while still bringing in substantial monthly support funding. It doesn’t help that the developer scuttled another game of very similar design by revoking art usage…

A C6 Genshin character costs around 1200 on average. A weapon can get closer to 2000 if you are unlucky. However, all of those characters will still be viable for every piece of content going forward.

The estimates I’ve seen have found that it would take at least $100,000 and up to $500,000 to fully upgrade your character. Or, if you want to play the game exclusively “free”, you would need to sink anywhere from 10-20 years of continuous play to do it. 

This is truly sad but somewhat bittersweet to know it will continue. It is pretty awesome, however, to see someone compare this to Brandon Sanderson and The Wheel of Time books. That must have been tough shoes to fill. I can only imagine the pressure these individuals are under. Kudos.

not saying you’re wrong, but it was my understanding that there was no prior relationship with Robert Jordan and Sanderson, and that Sanderson was approached by Jordan’s widow, Harriet McDougal, about completing Wheel of Time. 

Brandon never spent time directly with Jordan, he was picked by Jordan’s widow and editor Harriet after the fact. He was able to work closely with Harriet (who arguably knew Jordan better than anyone), and he had all the notes and written chapters of the unfinished work, but he was not lucky enough to be close with…

it won’t be perfect but i think they’re entitled to try. Certainty they have more connection and investment in it than than Sanderson did with WoT.

I think in a situation like this, where story beats and character ideas have already been at least roughly sketched out, and the same rank and file people are doing so much of the work, it...can’t be as bad as some other attempts.
