It's exceptionally frustrating that I can't play Hearthstone on the plane. I just wanna play against the bot.

Fun fact: 80% of all US cash is $100 bills. It's estimated that something like 60-70% of that is used outside the US.

lol, you can't properly understand what you read, and I'm the one in trouble? Sorry about your ESL situation. You're beyond stupid.

How do you miss the word "military" in the URL?

890 improvements doesn't actually mean anything inherently. It could've been 300 typo fixes, 200 adjustments to various fonts and other size adjustments, etc. etc.

Cost of Living Adjustment - it's what she mentioned, and it's different from the allowance. Look it up. The Adjustment is for survivors (i.e. widows/widowers) and retirees, and it's an income raise set each year to compete with inflation. In 2013 it was set at 1.5%. Try again.

That's not boobs or a butt, it's really inconveniently-placed egg sacs.

A couple thoughts:

I went to my first convention this year (ACen) at my girlfriend's request, and I honestly had more fun looking at the cosplays than anything else. There were some funny gender benders, some insanely elaborate League costumes, and surprisingly accurate Mortal Kombat get-ups. I didn't even make it to a single panel,

Sorry, wrong. COLA stands for "Cost Of Living Adjustment". That's why you get different BAH rates at every base. That's also why you get a COLA increase every single year - to keep up with inflation. Try harder.

Well... don't have a kid with an E-3. lol

Yes?

Not to mention not having to pay for any health insurance - that's a lot of money saved every year.

This, 100%. All my experience in the military agrees with pretty much everything you've said here. It's not hard to be comfy if you're careful and a little bit clever.

Actually, they changed that. Hawaii is considered overseas, and I know quite a few people on 6 on/6 off deployment rotations there. They'll get 4-6 people in one apartment (rotating it so only half are there at any given time), and they all get full BAH. Good way to make a lot of money.

That's base pay. Doesn't include the money you get for rent, or the money you get for food. Additionally, we don't pay for any medical services, so long as they're justified. I'm getting Lasik in a few months, and it's not costing me a dime beyond a plane ticket to a base that does it (which would be free if I felt

As an E-4 in the military, it absolutely is absurd...ly nice. I don't get how *anyone* is poor in the military, unless you're buying brand new cars, TVs, computers, trips, or shopping sprees. I know 2 people with 6 or more kids, and with proper budgeting, they're able to afford all *kinds* of cool shit while still

You're financially responsible. Congratulations. There's no reason everyone can't do the same thing (especially when just about every base/branch out there offers financial management classes). There's more than enough money to go around for military families if you watch what you spend, even a little. As an E-4, I

GiveMeABreak *did* mention "sports cars and trucks", to be fair.
