I have a hard enough time talking to anyone about anything (Unless you hit one of my obsessions and then you’ll suddenly hear about the council of Nicea and the evolution of the Catholic church. I’m not even Christian!!) and there have been instances when someone has done or said something not ok.

And in the theaters! I saw it last night to stomping applause. I have no natural interest in comics, and I was raised in a super-sheltered area, and I didn’t want it to end. It was so awesome. And I LOVED how many kiddos/families were there. When my date and I left, there were crowds waiting to get into the next

Not gonna lie, this made me smile. Thank you.

I was quite happy with Wonder Woman, but Black Panther is a very interesting counterpoint to that movie. In WW, they gave us a female hero, but separated her from all of her fellow female warriors early in the movie in order to surround her with dudes. Black Panther, on the other hand, did something pretty subversive

I’m so fucking torn. I WANT to see this movie. I want to see it in theaters, I want to see it tonight...

It did over $25 million on Thursday alone. There will definitely be a sequel.

My boys, baby and I skipped school today and saw the first showing at 10am. Theater was packed. My heart soared several times because, finally, I was watching a movie, not about pimps, hoes, slavery or drugs, but one were my 5 year olds cheered for heroes and booed villians that looked just like them. They saw a woman

The kid and I JUST saw it. It is an absolutely beautiful film. It really has an extremely nuanced storyline while also delivering on superhero spectacle.

I saw this yesterday in a theater full of black MBA’s who bought out the theater for the occasion and was overcome. Since I was a child I’ve wanted this movie to be made. I’ve followed Black Panther as a character since I discovered him in grade school and have identified and loved every piece of associated work.

Actually I took that to mean that no one has spoken to him about it or gotten his side of the story at all. Which does seem like something that that should happen in a proper investigation.

Meh Arrested Development is far more popular now than it was during its original run in the earl-mid 2000's, where it only had a cult following. Netflix helped it grow a bunch by introducing people to the re-runs, and of of course by reviving it for seasons 4 & 5. I’d say AD is far more popular/relevant than it was

I married my husband after like 9 months of dating. WE JUST KNEW?

All cheeseburgers hidden from children will immediately be shipped to the White House

I read about this on the FB page of my local news media. People were flipping out about how McDonald’s is trying to tell them how to raise their kids. Dipshits, you can just ask for a cheeseburger if it’s that important to you.

Dammit! Beat me to it... .came here to post this...Speedy humps

Because we do have gun control laws. But the key is that laws stop the lawful, so that only helps so much.

So she’s a semi-attractive blonde whose looks are sure to fade in the next ten years who got a dorky idiot with a ton of unearned money to think that she’s the one. It’s an American romance.

Ugh, that reminds me, I’ve got my redetermination paperwork waiting to be filled out. I really need that $79 a month, no lie.

Its main flaw, in my view, is that not enough people are on it, and the ones who are should get more money.

Thank you! The issue with SNAP is lack of funds and an excess of beurocratic bullshit. The concept (give people money so they can eat) is a perfectly sound one that works well when it is properly funded (although obviously larger systemic poverty issues, like food deserts, can still be an issue). Every study I have
