After 5+ years on my i7 920 @ 3.9Ghz, I finally took the plunge and picked up a new Gigabyte board and an i7-4790k. Was considering an i5 variant, but in the end, I decided to get the best CPU I could without having to move to DDR4, which so far doesn't seem like a worthwhile upgrade.
