After a quick look at their twitter it seems they're doing it just to be assholes. Although I have heard of hackers that reveal exploits so those exploits can be fixed, but this isn't what's going on.

It's not the online features that are my problem, it's the complete lack of offline features. I get 14gb/month at 150kb/s if I'm lucky. So if I wanted to play destiny I'd basically be SOL. I understand that they want it to be played online but that doesn't mean they couldn't have given it at least some offline…
