Indeed, Team Fortress 2 has the benefit of having a strong personality. That really helped give it such a lasting span of interest. It really is something when a game has so much potential for character interaction when most of its lore/plot is outside of the game itself.

This makes me want a TF2 SRPG in a similar vein as Tactics Ogre or Fire Emblem.

There is one thing that bugs me about the "Long games waste a lot of time" argument, a game's length has nothing to do with how much time is spent gaming. lets say I spend 4 hours a day playing games, it doesn't matter how long the game is I will still spend that much time gaming.

No matter what the heads at Origin say. I will not forgive them for pulling existing games off its competitor, Steam and then acting like the big guys. Splitting apart the market for their own profit at the consumer's inconvenience is a dick move no matter how you look at it.

I love how Miyamoto walks in with his Master Sword and Hylian Sheild, then used it for demonstration.

I was just going to say something about the MOTHER series, a series that Nintendo has seemed to forget.

Why are there no Shin Megami Tensei games in the "Top 10 End of the world games" list? Most of the series and its spinoffs can easily qualify .

Hmm the "Most wanted unlikely RPG sequels" list reeks of western RPG bias. 4/5 are western RPGs, two of them are Bioware games and the one Japanese game isn't really an RPG.

No "This game stinks!" campaign for Earthbound on the "bad marketing" list?

I knew valve has shown interest in Biofeedback, the applications seem very interesting. Maybe some day in our near future valve or some other developer will use this to a great effect

One of the fatal flaws to a lot of "silent protagonists" is when the game never give you a way to project yourself in game. You cant feel immersed if you can't act out on your own (meaningful dialogue choices, interacing with the enviorment, etc.)

Why do so many people forget that games are not sold new forever? I and many other gamers usually buy games used long after new copies are produced. However, I do not buy recent releases used. It gives the publisher/developer a sale and gives me a clean disc

@relic1980: it was depressing to see cartoons change from "slapstick and nonsense" to "sitcoms with a gimmick for kids" when i look back to when i was a kid

@Mentuss: I agree. another thing that seems to be forgotten about motion control is collision. the sword fighter we have been waiting for cant really happen because the weapon in game has to stop or impact. your hand does not.
