The TT RS already is an all-wheel-drive Boxster/Cayman competitor. I really don’t see the point of Audi introducing a second one. It would be rear-biased instead of front-biased AWD and mid-engined, but I doubt the people who would buy an Audi over a Porsche care about that anyway.

Same reason people wanted the previous GT: to pretend to be Steve McQueen at Le Mans, which is a noble aspiration.

The names of the interior colours are awesome. Too bad there’s no brown or tan.

By the way, what happened to the Model X configurator being opened yesterday?

Me too. But the facelift has those pinstripes on the headlight covers which are really snazzy.

The DS is from 1955. It’s not because it’s “older than 10 years” that it’s celebrated. I’ll say that again: it’s from 1955. Have a look at what other car companies were building in 1955. The DS had unibody construction, a fibreglass roof, disc brakes all round, hydropneumatic suspension, steering and brakes,

To each their own! For me, in styling as in all other aspects, there is the Citroën DS, and then there are cars.

Behold the Smart Roadster Collector’s Edition. A last hurrah for the model, and truly the one to have, enjoy and save for posterity. Important points :

They’re making a C6 replacement already, but only for China. It’s not certain that it’ll be called C6 but it’s possible. I will not link any of the pictures that have leaked. It is disgustingly, despicably normal.

Very true, but my guess is that the people who are after that special connection buy something like an FR-S, not an M6.

I’m talking about the S-Class here, not the CLA.

Well, until the facelift (to be precise, until the model year right before the facelift), the suspension was apparently very hard for not much in the way of driving pleasure as a trade-off. Since then it’s been softened.

I don’t know... But if we wanted to compare fairly, Alfa Romeo competes with DS, not with Peugeot or Citroën. The DS line-up is just as old as Alfa’s and I bet it doesn’t sell much better.

Yeah well hiring one guy is not going to cut it. Look at the Japanese luxury brands, they hired plenty of former German auto execs, but they’re still trailing Mercedes-Benz in interior quality.

But isn’t the CTS the 5-series competitor?

If it were as easy as sourcing the materials, building a factory and hiring designers, everyone would have an S-Class competitor. But hardly anyone does, because you can’t buy expertise.

That does make a lot of sense.

You’re thinking of Renault. Peugeot-Citroën have no ties to Nissan.

Don’t worry, they’ve hired a new chef de suspension. Peugeots drive well once more and the hot hatches are good too.

Yes, the THP engine had a lot of problems at first. PSA still uses it extensively and as far as I know all has been sorted, but it took some time.
