Spyker was a cash-strapped start-up, this is Renault we’re talking about.

Nah, they’re way past that. The latest concept (see above) was already very production-friendly, and the Renault Group as well as the Alpine CEO have been very clear that the brand is coming back in 2017.

I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. The spyshots hint at something quite close to the Célébration.

You know, Renault don’t actually run Nissan. Nissan is still Nissan.

With all the effort they’re putting into rebuilding Alpine as a brand, I doubt Renault would suffer it to become a badge-engineered Nissan, especially since Alpine is not 100% unknown in the US. They’d probably prefer to bring it stateside as an Alpine than a Nissan, especially since it has to be easier to homologate

Wouldn’t be a very different proposition than the Alfa 4C. A little less exotic charm, perhaps, but probably more comfort.

Well, it was made to celebrate the 60 years of Alpine...

Ooh, ok! No, the A is the Alpine logo and the 60 is for the brand’s 60th anniversary. The new concept car is actually called the Célébration. And I agree, it’s very retro.

The A60? What’s that?

Yes, and also, if I understand all the articles I’ve been reading, everyone got a press release from Renault about 2 days ago.

4th gear: Iran isn’t opening to Western cars, it’s re-opening. Peugeot has always been one of the biggest brands in Iran. In 2011 they sold 458,000 vehicles there, nearly one in four Peugeots sold globally.

Don’t they make an RS Q3 already?

Mh, I did some more checking and you’re right, the ND is actually 2332 lbs. Still, that’s not too bad and it’s lighter than the NC.

The latest Miata is 2200 lbs. The original weighed 2070.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw anything new or interesting on an Opel production or concept car. This is great!

Well, they’ve never been a luxurious brand.

Well it turns out the little die-cast one I have isn’t missing any details underneath.

I think they’re very different concepts. The Tesla handles move on their own and seem to think for themselves. It’s futuristic and evokes technology. Meanwhile, the Lincoln handles are a solid, unmoving piece of polished metal that try to disguise their technological nature. They’re an exercise in classicism and evoke

Rich old people who want a comfy GT.

People buy this kind of car in part to show off. On that front the Lexus absolutely destroys the M6. The LC500 looks like a supercar, the M6 just looks like a big Bimmer.
