That one, the Continental Flying Star, did get made, but by Touring Superleggera. I’m sure if you have a Conti lying around, a huge stack of cash, and good manners, you could still get them to build you one.

A 1972 isn’t as desirable as a 50’s or 60’s model, but at least it’s not a 90’s one and it doesn’t have rectangular headlights. The denim seats are certainly a plus. All in all if the car is in as good a shape as the seller says, $6,500 is certainly NP.
It’s all down to colour really. I think it’s a very well-designed interior, it’s classical in inspiration but thorougly modern, and it can look retro or hi-tech depending on the colours and materials.
Because here’s how our new vehicular utopia is really going to work. Owe some back taxes or fines? Oops, your car isn’t going to start until you settle up.
A name inherited from the Sunbeam Alpine, I believe.
I think it’s only in the UK that it was sold as “Renault GTA”, without Alpine branding.
Since the car in the article doesn’t have it, I’m guessing they’ll remove it if you ask nicely/pay handsomely enough, signature design element or not.
Custom-made for the client’s kids maybe?
Maybe pictures taken at different times of the build? Or Photoshop.
how are they going to pull out without hitting you?
It’s a British car with a highly complex Citroën suspension. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
But they can park nose to curb in the space of a postage stamp when you’re still looking for an available parking space.
They’ve said that they might consider it, but it will probably be in 10 years at least, if it happens. DS is no longer a sub-brand, by the way, it’s distinct from Citroën now.
I am shocked. There is crime in the Netherlands?
But it’s a new car, therefore bad! Right?
I think your timeline is a bit off... The CX looks like a car from the seventies because it is, it was launched in 74. The XM is from 89. The first gen C5 is hideous, I won’t dispute that.
Safety regulations will do that... I don’t think the Cactus could have been much smaller in the current context while still seating 5 like the Méhari.
You can always buy a second-hand Méhari 4x4. However since a good 2WD Méhari fetches 10,000€ to 15,000€ these days, I reckon a 4x4 model would be more expensive than a brand new C4 Cactus.
Southwestern France has lots of surfing spots, especially the Basque Country.
Luxury??? Have you even been near a C4 Cactus?
