I agree it makes sense to show commitment. Though one way they could ease this is have this be a  commission advance aka for the 1st X dollars in sales the creators make 100% of sales for a large percentage of this 5000 dollars with a small remainder  paid to review the content.

I do think ease of development is crucial here, but there are still a lot of elements at play here. I hope it does well I have mine reserved and am excited. But am skeptical cause they haven’t really grabbed the 3rd parties since the SNES for the console side.
