Wii U apologists tend to point to the NES/SNES games in the VC and the backwards compatible Wii games, I think the Vita apologists have a fair argument in this case.

I suppose it depends on your point of view. The games that Wii U defenders are constantly claiming will save the system don't even have release dates or a general idea of what's going on with them or how far along they are in development. At least Vita users have release dates and an idea of what's in development.
