It might be worth it, if it was 'unlimited' use and didn't cut into your data plan. I can't see why any sane person would get this bolt-on otherwise - unless your family/friends can't use G+ or Skype or Yahoo or...etc.

Fair point...I don't know about other countries but in the UK Skype isn't really a suitable phone replacement.

There must be a reason for it but I can't help but think if they allowed it to have phone functionality it would be a lot more popular.

I use a HTC and previously used an iPhone, but if that woman can't do anything on her iPhone there is no way she'd be able to get used to the somewhat initially less user friendly Android, before exclaiming, 'My phone can't do that!'
