I understood it as a possible explanation as to why he did what he did, not why. No official ever said that he died because of pot. The report just said that there was a substantial amount of THC in his system. The only people that are stressing the pot part are his family because they are desperate to prove the court wrong.

If you look at the video in slow motion you can see Ward jump onto the wing and grab onto it and it bend, and then he falls off into the tire.
