Yeah, there really wasn't anything like MGS when it came out. It's not just the cinematic aspect but also the more "adult" level story line which mostly felt grounded in reality. There's the whole stealth aspect, too, sure, but it was all the options you had which really made it special. Kill a guy with any weapon.

Yeah, especially when a game forces three playthroughs as Eternal Sonata does. :/ Apparently beating the last boss/last secret dungeon boss on the hardest game mode is worth 1 point. :/

I was just out of high school when the movie came out. :p Around the time they got rid of the original cast — I remember Tommy, then everyone basically going away, but I know Billy still appeared with the later kids for some reason — I stopped watching.

That's impressive. Marry her.

Now playing

I still need to see it. I'm a Power Rangers fan, but I'm slow to watch movies. Just finally watched Enter the Dragon the other day.

I do like that. Died quite a few times on bosses, usually when trying to milk them for photos. I will say that once I settled in on a two attack, one healer setup, combat seems easier now. Tuba's a chump compared to some of the early bosses. Going through the swamp now.

I'm 10 hours in, and it's not much better. It's an average game. The tie in with Chopin is what really keeps me playing, and the combat is OK. My biggest gripe is how linear it is. I've never seen a more guided RPG before where you're frequently restricted to narrow paths and barred from running through open fields

The graphics are superb for a 32 bit console, definitely the best I've seen on the PS1 that I can remember.

Angry Birds launched on Dec. 2009

Such as? There was Crush the Castle. Care to name "tons" more?

Actually, there's much to learn from Angry Birds success.

Why share revenue with a distribution outlet when you don't need it? Same reason Minecraft won't be on Steam.

A Kotakuite already said that even when he paid for the game he keep receiving ads.

Yeah, I find the $100 million figure hard to believe given all of the products, ad revenue, and licensing deals (ie., the Rio game, the Google Chrome deal) Rovio has earning it money from the game.

Eternal Sonata! The intro was so boring I saved immediately and took a nap, but I've always wanted to play it. Was looking for a lengthy game to start after wrapping up Split/Second, so it was either this, Infinite Undiscovery (halfway through), or El Shaddai (new purchase but leaving it for later).

Seasons 1 and 2 of Adventure Time are pretty great, but I think the ending of the 2nd season started a decline where much of the charm and humor of the show was lost. The 3rd season isn't terrible or anything, but it's just not that good. :/

Falcom >3

Anyone order from Toy City before? I want to buy this Kula Diamond figure:

Agreed. I think she does OK in quantifying her opinion so that the review can be useful, but opening with admitting that you're terrible at these games and then going on basing the review on a playthrough of "the easiest mode available" puts much of it into question.

It wasn't fixed as of this Saturday when I installed the distro. I wouldn't know about this if I hadn't had to find out why it wasn't working. I'm no Linux expert, but I have enough experience to call myself an average user, though my last Ubuntu install prior to doing 11.10 this week is the Ubuntu 6 I keep on my iMac
