No, that's bro-gamer culture. That's distinctly different from the majority of the folks who show up to the big gaming conventions, pro-tournaments etc. Those are more your core-gaming culture folks who actually give a shit about something other than just CoD/Assassin's Creed/Madden.

Gamer culture isn't bro culture. Traditionally, gamer culture is pretty firmly anti-bro, as it was the gamers that were ostracized and made fun of by the jocks/cool kids who ended up turning into said bros.

I find it sexist that you think hot sex moves to blow your partner's mind is only valuable to men and that it's male-centric. Pretty sure pleasing your partner and sex is something both genders tend to do.

'prominent' is up for debate. Almost all her examples come straight out of TV Tropes and she doesn't have any academic basis for a lot of her examples. And a lot of the examples she points out are very flawed contextually. As in the games never make it into a 'reward' system for attacking or belittling women in a

It's just a heterosexual thing, not necessarily 'playing into a male perspective'. I just will never understand why people conflate the two. Sex as a concept is not a male activity. It's for both men and women.

Did you see the nearly dozen articles on sites like Kotaku, Polygon, Gamasutra, and Ars Technica that came out within a day of each other proclaiming the death of the "gamer" identify or the evil of "gamers"?

You really don't want to defend Anita by accusing others of strawman

Say what you want about her opinions, but this is spot on:

This is pretty fucking stupid if they do this to make it more politically correct. But I can understand if it's done to save space or improve performance - to a certain extend.

It's sad that this is the realistic state of things. What was once funny or acceptable for the past decade is now a cause of concern and worry. And this is why I hate censorship in all forms. *grumbles*

I would not take any chances, people get offended by the smallest things.

What a dumb change. Being able to see silly polka dotted panties or something comedic isn't any more ridiculous than a princess fighting super heroes in a pink dress.

I used to get bored on long car trips as a kid, so would picture sonic or guy running along side dodging obstacles and other cars.

It really isn't

I'm so butthurt North America is not getting the First Print Edition.

Well, we already knew she was quite a fox.

My body is re—FLY ME TO THE MOON
LET ME PLAY ALONG THE STARS

The funny thing is I came here to make just this point. The sort of things mentioned in the above article are hardly exclusionary to female characters. Men get murdered, mutilated, sexualized ect. and nobody bats a damn eyelash. Do the same for female characters and people get angry.

If you think the average person playing these games is considering all of the ethical and moral quandaries surrounding their themes (even the background ones), you're an idiot. Not only that, if you then make it your personal mission to over-analyze and condemn artistic license, you're an idiot and you're destructive.

I seem really sexist when I say this to certain people.
