There is a rumor that Dune may be resurrected .. I think the rights to the Gold Box games went to Mattel and Hasbro - which means it will probably never see the light of day.

I was one of the designers on Dune II. I left right after Virgin purchased Westwood in the early 90's. I also worked on Eye of the Beholder series. Most of the original guys (except for Louis Castle) formed their own company called Petroglyph Games. I decided design video games for the elderly - Slot Machines ...

I have been in the video game industry for a long time. It has always been my suspicion that EA's constant purchasing and closing of development houses was a way to distribute and write-off debt.
