I am a Hyundai owner so this might sound a bit bias. Personally, I think they are doing a good job handling the situation and that will indeed get them loyalty points and they will be able to retain several of their customers.
I am going to go on a limb here and say because they aren't shitty. They actually making very decent cars and selling them at great prices. Right now, I would call them the best "bang for the buck" company.
