But the rest of what you’re saying is irrelevant, because if you could ask the innocent man (who is now dead, so you can’t) what he would have preferred, I think he would have taken his chances with the shot to the lower abdomen or back.

For your first two paragraphs: You say he was no threat in “hindsight”, like the lack of the benefit of hindsight excuses this. It doesn’t. The police officer did not have enough information to justify the action that they took. That is on them.

Exactly, the fuss over this is almost nonsensical. Sure, they shouldn’t be releasing debug code, and it’s worse that it’s for something as low-level as a driver, but it’s almost like freaking out about any other debugging/troubleshooting feature that’s intentionally present (e.g request logging on a web server).

The floating blue power-ups that turn you into a vehicle were a fucking abomination. That alone was enough to destroy the game for me, even ignoring its other problems. How you’re expected to feel like you’re in the Star Wars universe when you have such ugly and jarring game mechanics is beyond me.

The window exploding in the side impact is pretty cool.
