He made his own assembler to save time? Jesus. It looked an awful lot like C by the end of it as well. He implemented loops, structs and includes, surely he could have just used C in the first place? I probably shouldn't doubt him though. He obviously knows what he's doing and he did explicitly say he couldn't use C.

Came here to comment the same thing, great fun for the whole family

I don't think people like the CEOs of the companies they hate though

You're so cool I wish I was like you

I thought the general idea was that big defense companies are lobbying politicians so that they get contracted to build things that aren't needed. Hasn't there been lots of talk of generals saying they don't want more money being spent on the military, but it keeps happening anyway? I don't know any actual examples

I don't follow what you're saying.

If that Wikipedia link is to be believed, as a percentage of GDP it is really high...

I think it's actually more than the rest of the world's military spending, by a significant amount as well (a few percent over 50% of the word's military spending, I thought).

You could cut a billion (literally) programs like this, or you could just take the entire 7% from defense and probably still be ok.

I think you meant $16 trillion debt, not deficit. #corrections

Even that is unfair I think. I doubt there's many men in charge who wouldn't allow women into important jobs just because they're "old guard". I think what the problem is, is perceived sexism when it's not really there (obviously there will be some sexism, but I don't think any more than any other industry, and

Also, I only just got to this link in the article:

One reason why these articles "enrage" people is because no solutions are offered (although this article improves on that a bit). You say you aren't intending the discussion to be about whether or not Sony or PS4 developers are sexist, but I think that's basically the impression people usually get from the original

It's better for if something awesome happens in multiplayer

It's pretty crazy how similar the PS4 and next Xbox are supposed to be. It sounds like the PS4 has a slight all-round edge, but the underlying CPU and GPU are supposed to be the same architecture right? So ports should be easy, and what will really separate the consoles is the "OS" and the service.

I think it's only the view directly from the front that looks bad. There the touchscreen looks like a weird rectangle jammed on the top, but the other angles look fine.

I think I may be seeing what you're saying, but isn't x86-64 needed to address higher amounts of RAM? But I think he didn't realise that x86 can also refer to "x64", so he was actually assuming a 32-bit CPU.

That's not what stood out to me, what stood out was that there four of them on stage and only one of them spoke very briefly. I thought they were all going to say something.

I was laughing the whole time at that guy, for a couple of close-ups it looked like he was crying...
